Can Letting Go of Old Dreams Lead to Success?

How do you define success in your personal and business life?

It's an important question because you can't create your ideal business without answering it. Yet too many people end up being boxed into someone else's idea of success.

Even if you haven't nailed down your definition of success, don't let that hold you back from launching or scaling your business. You can adapt and grow along the way, ensuring your journey remains fulfilling.

Why?

The process may involve sleepless nights and financial strains. However, it ensures your business grows together with you.

During my journey of building a photography business from scratch, I learned to recognise the right moments to pivot and gain valuable skills, enriching my journey overall.

Takeaway: Embrace change today. Learn from each pivot and let those lessons fuel your growth.

All these experiences lead me back to the fundamental question: what does success mean to me?

Reading 'I Am A Creator, Vol 3' this morning prompted me to think deeply about my definition of success. 

This made me realise that while I had pondered on success, I had never zeroed in on what it truly means to me.

Reflecting on my journey and reading, here's how I currently define success; this serves as my guiding light as I evolve in my business and personal life:

  • Creating value and earning money is a part of my lifestyle.
  • Control over my schedule - I never feel rushed.
  • Energy-giving relationships - spending time with people who uplift me.
  • Connecting with nature and animals - gardening, walking my dog, and unwinding in nature.
  • Daily self-care practices - staying present, meditating, QiGong, Yoga, healthy eating, exercising, breathing exercises, infrared saunas, and engaging in joyful activities.
  • Following my curiosity - exploring new interests daily to keep my mind sharp and engaged.

This definition serves as a clear guide for my decisions and strategies, ensuring each step aligns with my vision of success.

Define what success means to you today, and let that definition guide your everyday decisions and actions toward a life filled with purpose and fulfilment.
